Thai Tea “Chef Style”
Thai Tea “Chef Style” is a carefully crafted take on the beloved Thai iced tea that elevates the classic flavors with a blend of warming spices and rich, creamy sweetness. Inspired by a memorable experience at a small Seattle restaurant, this recipe captures the essence of that refreshing drink while adding a personal, chef-inspired twist. The combination of cinnamon, cardamom, and cloves infuses the tea with a fragrant warmth, balanced perfectly by the smooth coconut and condensed milk mixture.
The preparation process involves simmering the Thai tea leaves and spices to extract deep, aromatic flavors before steeping them to perfection. This careful brewing, followed by chilling for a full day, ensures a robust and intensely flavorful tea base. The richness is enhanced by blending chilled coconut milk with sweetened condensed milk, creating a luscious topping that contrasts beautifully with the strong tea beneath.
Perfect for serving over ice on a warm day or as a delightful treat anytime, this Thai Tea “Chef Style” promises to impress both longtime fans and newcomers alike. Its complex flavors and creamy texture make it an indulgent yet refreshing beverage. Sharing a glass of this special tea is a way to connect and celebrate hospitality—just as the creator hopes you will bless your neighbors and enjoy it together.
I fell in love with Thai tea around 4 years ago when I discovered this drink at a little restaurant north of Seattle. It was so refreshing and yummy. It’s now my go-to drink. Unfortunately, the restaurant has now closed and I’ve been unable find a Thai tea that comes close to the tea from that little restaurant north of Seattle,
Since I am no longer able to get the good stuff, I resorted to my ancestors to guide me to make this inspired Thai tea. After some experimenting with various spices, I believe I’ve elevated the Thai tea flavor to make it a true chef’s delight.
From my table to yours, I hope you enjoy, and remember to bless your neighbor and share a glass! This recipe will make 4 8oz servings.
